The student radio at Jönköping University is teaming up with Asecs for an intensive live broadcast – the goal is to raise 100,000 SEK for Musikhjälpen's fundraising for world hunger.
Radio K, Jönköping University's own radio channel, has a tradition of hosting a 36-hour live broadcast in conjunction with Musikhjälpen to raise money. This year, parts of the broadcast will take place at Asecs, with the help of both customers and stores, to take the fundraising to new heights.
Mathilda Bright, head of Radio K, reveals that the students' enthusiasm has spread to the staff at Asecs.
We have spoken to many stores and restaurants that want to participate and contribute to all the fun that will happen during the live broadcast; it will be a packed schedule! We will have competitions, challenges, auctions, and interviews one after the other, so we need to collaborate to make everything come together."
Johanna Donker, center manager at Asecs, is pleased with the collaboration with the university.
I have studied at JU myself and know what a great university it is, but a challenge we have in Jönköping is to get students to stay in town after graduation. It is incredibly important that we, as a society, welcome everyone who has come here and show them the opportunities in Jönköping, even outside the classroom walls. At Asecs, we usually open up our premises for initiatives related to Musikhjälpen, and I hope that we can break all records this year!"
On December 7th, the live broadcast at Asecs will take place, and the entire day will be especially advantageous for students. Discounts, competitions, and offers that are particularly suitable for Christmas shopping for students wallets are promised.
