Which positions are open?
Board Member - 2 open positions
As a board member, your job is to be the voice of the students in the decisions the board is responsible for. This means that you are expected to participate in activities, events, and other means to keep in touch with your fellow students to later represent their opinions. You must also stay updated on what is happening within JSU as an organization, as the board is responsible for overseeing the development of the Student Union. Among other things, you will gain experience in how to manage and develop an organization at a strategic level.

Nominations Committee - 5 open positions
The Nominations Committee interviews candidates for different positions within the Student Union. Based on the interviews the Nomination Committee brings out a recommendation for the best candidate. They play a crucial role, and their opinions carry significant weight. Part of the Nominations Committee's work is also to look for suitable candidates for the roles. This means that the committee needs to be out among students at activities and events to connect with potential candidates. That said, there is no requirement for you to have an extensive network from the start.
As a member of the Nominations Committee, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in interviewing and recruitment.

Operations Controller - 2 open positions
The Operations Controllers are responsible for ensuring that the work carried out by the board follows JSU's statutes and other governing documents. This position's main task is to observe and act if necessary. You will gain insight into how the Student Union functions and have the chance to gain experience in organizational development and strategic work. Note that the Operational Controllers do not have voting rights within the JSU board.

Alumni - 1 open position
As an Alumni board member, your job is to bring guidance and expertise to the board. With your knowledge and experience you can bring a wider perspective to the board meetings in order to strategically guide JSU. A requirement to be eligible for the position is to have graduated from a degree at JU. It is not required to have been part of the JSU board before.

HOW DO I APPLY?
- You submit your application by sending your CV and motivational letter via email, no later than September 16th.
- The Nominations Committee will contact you for an interview. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis and any candidate who applied before the given deadline has the opportunity to be interviewed.
- The Nominations Committee will contact your references.
- You will be invited to present yourself, for a maximum of 5 minutes, at the By Election on September 23rd. Time and location will be provided during the recruitment process. After the presentation, the board may ask additional questions.
- The board will review all applications, listen to the candidates, and then decide considering the Nominations Committee's recommendation..
You can also apply on the spot. In that case, you will not be interviewed by the Nominations Committee.
